Oh, and I'm playing on gog using the v1.9.2 version of d3d8.dll (I don't know why but the most recent one didn't work for me). That is until I retried this method, and this time installing it on the C drive as you mentioned and haven't had a crash or glitch since, and I'm 3 hours in. These last three days I have been trying a number of different solutions, even digging back my old computer, to no avail, the game was borderline unplayable. But the best version is to use the one from sega dreamcast with RainaAudrens texture pack.
